Tucson is the #1 Best Place to Live

Tucson is the #1 “Best Place to Live the Simple Life”—high in culture and low on stress—reports AARP The Magazine in its upcoming September/October 2009 issue. Tucson was selected for the top honor from a survey of 324 metropolitan areas.

AARP calls Tucson “mesmerizing” because of both geographic and cultural characteristics. The city is surrounded by stunning wilderness, including the Coronado National Forest—which has 1.78 million acres and encompasses 12 mountain ranges. Tucson’s unique “vibe” is admired due to its rich cultural heritage which blends “Mexican, Native American, and frontier roots.”

Tucson’s affordability and its 286 sunny days a year are also noted. See the Best Places to Live the Simple Life full story online, as well as the Methodology for Selecting the Simple Life Cities.

The Red Hawk at J-6 Ranch community is just 20 miles east of Tucson.
